About Rachel
Hello! My name is Rachel Herring, and I'm the head of this here operation. I have been designing and creating for as long as I can remember. When I was little, I was never without a crayon or marker in my hand. Continuing through school, I took all the art classes I could and created t-shirts and set designs for dances in high school. I knew I wanted to major in a design field, and I graduated with a degree in Interior Design and another in Business Administration at Auburn University. While in school, I learned how to use Adobe Creative Suite, and it ignited a desire to do graphic design.
I moved to Birmingham for an internship and remained there after graduation. Still having a major interest in graphic design, I started Herring Design Co. to design custom invitations for people. The business grew by word of mouth, and so did the products I offer. I love graphic design, so I continued beyond invitations to create stationery, prints, and promotional work.
I've always loved working with my hands, so after a kitchen renovation in my home, I had leftover wood that I knew couldn't go to waste. I made my first string arts from these pieces. Shortly after, I grew my tool collection, and I knew I had tapped into something I could base a career around. My business grew quickly after sharing these pieces, and I couldn't have been more thrilled! I started doing art shows, and soon after got pieces into stores in the area.
After seven years in Birmingham, AL, I moved to Santa Rosa Beach, FL. My surroundings here at the beach have influenced the subject matter of my work, and I can't wait to see what's next!

Outside of design work, I spend my time rearing two lab mix pups, drinking good beer, and obsessively following SEC football. Want to know more? Fill out the contact form below!
